PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:00 PM on March 25th, 2021 pursuant to House Rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Frazier moved that the minutes of March 18th, March 19th, and March 23rd, 2021 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 1103 be referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee.

Chair Mariani moved the H1103A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Thompson presented HF 1103, a bill for an act relating to public safety; imposing duties on peace officers and law enforcement agencies regarding video and audio recordings of use of deadly force; providing for a civil remedy; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 13.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 1535, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
