HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Dan Wolgamott, Vice Chair of the Higher Education Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM on March 16, 2023, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 2253 (Novotny) Use of force training reimbursement program established, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Wolgamott brought HF 2253 before the committee.

Representative Novotny presented HF 2253 on an informational basis.

The committee concluded discussion on HF 2253 and the bill was kept in possession of the committee.

Chair Pelowski assumed the gavel at 10:42 AM.

Representative Wolgamott moved that the minutes from March 14, 2023 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1912 (Hanson) Assigned student responsibility decreased for state grant program, and money appropriated.

Chair Pelowski brought HF 1912 before the committee.

Representative Hanson moved the H1912A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee concluded discussion on HF 1912 and the bill was kept in possession of the committee.

HF 863 (Wolgamott) Time-limited tuition relief program established for students who pursue a degree in law enforcement, and money appropriated.

Chair Pelowski brought HF 863 before the committee.

Representative Wolgamott moved the HF0863A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Wolgamott presented HF 863 on an informational basis.
