JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM on February 9, 2023 in Room 120 of the Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Johnson moved that the minutes of February 7, 2023, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 14 (Pinto) Criminal background checks required for firearm transfers, and grounds modified for disqualification of transferee permit.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 14 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H0014A6 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Pinto presented HF 14 as amended.

HF 15 (Frazier) Law enforcement and family members enabled to petition a court to prohibit people from possessing firearms if they pose a significant danger to themselves or others by possessing a firearm, and money appropriated.

Vice Chair Frazier moved that HF 15 be recommended to be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H0015A6 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Frazier presented HF 15 as amended.
