LABOR AND INDUSTRY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Kaela Berg, Vice Chair of the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:03 P.M. on April 9th, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. It was broadcast via House Public Information Services.

A quorum was present.

Representative Schultz moved that the minutes of April 4, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 5217 (Nelson, M) Bureau of Mediation Services supplemental appropriations and other provisions modified.

Representative Nelson moved that HF 5217 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Representative Nelson moved the H5217A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on HF 5217, as amended:
-Johnny Villarreal, Commissioner, Bureau of Mediation Services

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that HF 5217, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

HF 5224 (Nelson, M) Combative sports regulations modified, and payment threshold from contractor recovery fund increased.

Representative Nelson moved that HF 5224 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Representative McDonald moved the H5224A1 amendment.

Representative McDonald withdrew the H5224A1 amendment.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that HF 5217 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.
