LABOR AND INDUSTRY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Michael V. Nelson, Chair of the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:03 P.M. on April 11th, in Room 10 of the State Office Building. It was broadcast via House Public Information Services.

A quorum was present.

Representative Schultz moved that the minutes of April 9, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3439 (Rehm) State Building Code amended to require electric vehicle charging infrastructure in all new residential buildings that provide on-site parking facilities.

Chair Nelson moved that HF 3439 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Chair Nelson moved the A24-0254 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on HF 3439, as amended:
-Andy Snope, IBEW Local 292
-Nick Erickson, Senior Director of Housing Policy, Housing First Minnesota
-Carolyn Berninger, Drive Electric Minnesota

Chair Nelson renewed his motion that HF 3439, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

HF 5338 (Nash) Contractor recovery fund modified to include private residential pools.

Representative Myers moved that HF 5338 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Representative Myers moved the H5338A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Myers renewed his motion that HF 5338, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Representative Berg moved that HF 5226 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.

Representative Berg moved the H5226A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Berg renewed her motion that HF 5226, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in a future bill.
