EDUCATION POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Sydney Jordan, Chair of the Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 3:02 PM on, Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in Room G23 of the State Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice-Chair Hill moved that the minutes from February 24, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3409 (Sencer-Mura) Denial of an education based on immigration status prohibited.

Chair Jordan moved that HF 3409, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy.

Chair Bennett moved the DE1 amendment to HF 3409 as amended.

Chair Bennett presented the DE1 amendment to HF 3409 as amended.

Chair Bennett withdrew the DE1 amendment to HF 3409 as amended.

Chair Jordan renewed her motion that HF3409, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee.

Chair Jordan requested a roll call.

Representative Greene moved that HF 3401 be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee.
