EDUCATION POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Sydney Jordan, Chair of the Committee on Education Policy, called the meeting to order at 3:01 PM on, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Room G23 of the State Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Falconer moved that the minutes from March 24, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 60 (Clardy) Teacher licensure requirements modified, professional development on dyslexia required, and rulemaking required.

Chair Jordan moved HF 60 before the committee.

Representative Clardy presented HF 60.

Chair Jordan moved to adopt the DE1 amendment to HF 60. THE MOTION
PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Jordan renewed the motion to lay over HF 60, as amended.

Chair Jordan laid over HF 60, as amended.

HF 3067 (Jordan) Paraprofessional qualifications defined.

Chair Jordan moved that HF 3067 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Jordan presented HF 3067.

Chair Jordan renewed the motion that HF 3067 be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.[LK1.1]

HF 3730 (Jordan) Education policy for kindergarten through grade 12 education modified, charter school policy modified, and state agency policy modified.

Chair Jordan moved that HF 3730 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Jordan presented HF 3730.

Chair Jordan renewed the motion that HF 3730 be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

HF 3638 (Hill) Provisions for educator licensing and standards modified, rulemaking authority for paraprofessional credentials modified, additional data sharing agreements provided, professional development requirements for mental health modified, and appropriation extended.

Chair Jordan moved that HF 3638 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Jordan presented HF 3638.

Chair Jordan renewed the motion that HF 3638 be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.
