MINUTES

Representative Schomacker, Chair of the Human Services Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:15 AM on March 3, 2026, in Room 123 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Virnig moved the minutes of February 26, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3469 (Virnig) Appropriation availability for the Direct Care and Treatment county correctional facility support pilot program extended.

Representative Virnig moved HF3469 before the committee.

Representative Virnig moved the A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Virnig laid over HF3469, as amended, for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill or further consideration at a later date. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Gillman assumed the gavel at 8:33 AM.

HF3526 (Schomacker) Method of deposit of fines collected related to home care licensing surveys and investigations modified, criteria for appointment to home care and assisted living program advisory council modified, special projects grant program established, and money appropriated.

Chair Schomacker moved HF3526 before the committee.

Chair Schomacker moved the A2 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

John Connolly, Deputy Commissioner and State Medicaid Director of Department of Human Services presented an update from the Department of Human Services on Centers Medicare/Medicaid directives.
