TAXES COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Taxes Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M. on March 25, 2026, in Room 120 of the State Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Joy moved the minutes of March 24, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presentation by Counties on Implementation of Local Homelessness Aid

Presenting:
• Nathan Jesson, Minnesota Inter-County Association.
• Dave Dunn, Olmsted County Director of Housing and Planning.
• George Borrell, Anoka County Community Social Services Director.
• Matt Hilgart, Association of Minnesota Counties.

HF4561 (Gomez) Local homeless prevention aid reporting requirements modified, redistribution of unspent money allowed, and aid sunset repealed.

Chair Gomez moved that HF4561 be laid over for possible inclusion in the 2026 Taxes Bill.

Representative Gomez presented HF4561.

Testifiers:

HF4343 (Lee) Advertising services tax imposed.

Representative Lee moved that HF4343 be laid for possible inclusion in the 2026 Tax Bill.

Representative Lee moved the HF4343A5 amendment to be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Lee presented HF4343 as amended.
