TAXES COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Taxes Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M. on April 29, 2026, in Room 120 of the State Capitol Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Elkins moved the minutes of April 28, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4677 (Davids) Indian Tribe property tax exemption established.

Representative Davids moved that HF4677 be laid over for possible inclusion in the 2026 Taxes Bill.

Representative Davids presented HF4677.

HF4678 (Davids) Indian Tribe property tax exemption modified.

Representative Davids moved that HF4678 be laid over for possible inclusion in the 2026 Taxes Bill.

Representative Davids moved the HF4678A1 amendment to be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Davids presented HF4678 as amended.

HF4678, as amended, was laid over for possible inclusion in the 2026 Taxes Bill.

HF4974 (Lee) Income and property tax refunds; homestead credit refund co-pays reduced, commissioner of revenue authorized to implement a tax compliance program, and money appropriated.

Representative Lee moved that HF4974 to be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Representative Lee moved the HF4974A1 amendment to be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Lee presented HF4974 as amended.

Representative Smith moved the HF1041A1 amendment to be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
