MINUTES

Representative Torkelson, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00PM on May 5th, 2026, in Room 120 of the Capitol. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice-Chair Agbaje moved the minutes of April 30th, 2026, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4338 (Schomacker)– Human services policy and finance bill.

Representative Schomacker moved that HF4338 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Schomacker moved the HF4338A21 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Schomacker renewed the motion that HF4338, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4017 (Johnson, W.) – Human services policy bill.

Chair Torkelson moved that HF4017 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Torkelson moved the H4017DE1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Torkelson renewed the motion that HF4017, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2354 (Norris) – Medical assistance fraud governing provisions added and modified, attorney general provided subpoena and enforcement authority, criminal penalties provided, conforming changes made, and money appropriated.

Chair Torkelson moved that HF2354 be placed on the General Register.

Chair Torkelson moved the HF2354A9 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Torkelson renewed the motion that HF2354, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2441 (Pinto) – Labor and industry finance and policy bill.

Chair Torkelson moved that HF2441 be placed on the General Register.

Representative Pinto moved the H2441DE4 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Torkelson renewed the motion that HF2441, as amended, be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:31PM.
