HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES NINETY-THIRD SESSION

COMMERCE FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn, Vice-Chair of the Commerce Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M. on April 3, 2024, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Klevorn moved to approve the minutes for March 27, 2024. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative O’Driscoll was recognized for a question regarding process.

HF2000 (Stephenson); Sports betting authorized and provided, licenses established, local restrictions prohibited, sports betting taxation provided, civil and criminal penalties provided, amateur sports grants provided, reports required, and money appropriated.

Chair Stephenson presented HF2000 on an informational basis.

HF4220 (Lee, L.); Settings subject to assisted living licensure expanded, and requirements for settings exempt from assisted living licensure modified.

Chair Stephenson moved that HF4220 be laid over.

Chair Stephenson moved the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE
AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Lee presented HF4220 as amended.

Chair Stephenson renewed the motion that HF4220, as amended, be laid over. The bill was laid over.

HF4587 (Bierman); Auto accident prevention course threshold established.
Chair Stephenson moved that HF4587 be laid over.

Representative Bierman presented HF4587.

Chair Stephenson renewed the motion that HF4587 be laid over. The motion prevailed.
