JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Cedrick Frazier, Vice Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on March 21, 2024, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Niska moved that the minutes of March 19, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3872 (Becker-Finn) Judiciary Finance and Civil Law policy bill

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 3872 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H3872DE3 amendment.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H3872A3 amendment to the H3872DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Feist moved the H3872A2 amendment to the H3872DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 3591 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Becker-Finn withdrew the motion that HF 3591 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

HF 4100 (Reyer) Debt collection, garnishment, and consumer finance governing provisions modified; debtor protections provided; and statutory forms review required.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 4100 be recommended to be re-referred to the Taxes Committee.
