JUDICIARY FINANCE AND CIVIL LAW COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Jamie Becker-Finn, Chair of the Committee on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on April 4, 2024, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson moved that the minutes of March 22, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3499 (Brand) Maximum train length established, and penalties provided.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 3499 be recommended to be re-referred to the Transportation Finance and Policy Committee.

HF 4537 (Pinto) Department of Human Services Office of Inspector General executive bill on children's licensing issues provisions modified.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 4537 be recommended to be placed on the General Register.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H4537A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Becker-Finn moved that HF 4728 be recommended to be re-referred to the Taxes Committee.

Chair Becker-Finn moved the H4728DE3 amendment.

Representative Scott moved the H4728A1 amendment to the H4728DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Becker-Finn renewed the motion to adopt the H4728DE3 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.
