EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:32 AM on February 22, 2024, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistance noted the roll.

Representative Virnig moved that the minutes from February 20th, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF 3722 (Hicks) Grant application process for P-TECH program clarified.

Vice Chair Clardy moved HF 3722 before the committee.

Vice Chair Clardy moved the A1 before the committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hicks presented on HF 3722 as amended.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 3722, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the final omnibus bill.

HF 2764 (Norris) Approved Recovery program grant amounts increased, and money appropriated.
Vice Chair Clady moved HF 2764 before the committee.
Vice Chair Clady moved the A3 amendment before the committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Norris presented on HF 2764, as amended.

Representative Sencer-Mura moved HF 3535 before the committee.
