EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:32 AM on March 14, 2024, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Jordan moved that the minutes from March 13th, 2024, with a technical correction, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 4117 (Norris) Local optional revenue, revenue for unemployment costs and family paid medical leave included in local optional revenue, referendum revenue simplified, equalization aid increased, and money appropriated.

Chair Youakim moved HF 4117 before the committee.

Representative Norris presented HF 4117.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 4117 be laid over for possible inclusion in the final omnibus bill.
HF 3780 (Hicks) Special education; development adapted physical education assessment requirements modified, and reports required.
Representative Virnig moved HF 3780 before the committee.
Representative Virnig moved the A3 amendment before the committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Hicks presented HF 3780, as amended.

Representative Virnig moved HF 4788 before the committee.
Representative Virnig presented HF 4788.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 4788 be laid over for possible inclusion in the final omnibus bill.
