EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Cheryl Youakim, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:32 AM on April 9, 2024, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Jordan moved that the minutes from April 4th, 2024, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 4232 (Sencer-Mura) Compensatory revenue distribution clarified.
Representative Sencer-Mura moved HF 4232 before the committee.
Representative Sencer-Mura presented HF 4232.
Testifiers:
• Dr. Steve Unowsky, Superintendent, Richfield School District
• Tina Burkholder, Director of Business Services, Monticello School District

Chair Youakim moved the A2 amendment before the committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Youakim moved that HF 4232, as amended be laid over for possible inclusion in a final omnibus bill.
HF 5004 (Tabke) Participation in and funding for alternative teacher compensation program increased, district authorized to qualify under long-term facilities maintenance revenue program as a district eligible for alternative facilities revenue, and money appropriated.
Chair Youakim moved HF 5004 before the committee.
Representative Tabke presented HF 5004.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 5004 be laid over for possible inclusion in a final omnibus bill.
Vice Chair Clardy assumed the gavel.

Chair Youakim moved HF 5326 before the committee.
Chair Youakim presented HF 5326.

Chair Youakim moved that HF 5326 be laid over for possible inclusion in final omnibus bill.
