TAXES COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Aisha Gomez, Chair of the Committee on Taxes, called the meeting to order at 1:02 PM on March 6, 2024 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Vice Chair Norris moved that the minutes from March 5, 2024 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Presentation from Minnesota Management and Budget on Corporate Profits and Corporate Tax Revenue Forecast.
Presenting:
• Dr. Laura Kalambokidis, State Economist, Minnesota Management and Budget
HF4513 (Greenman) A bill for an act relating to taxation; corporate franchise; requiring the Department of Revenue to make available certain corporate franchise tax information; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 270B.
Chair Gomez moved that HF4513 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.
Representative Greenman presented HF4513.

Chair Gomez renewed the motion that HF4513 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.
HF4535 (Howard) A bill for an act relating to taxation; corporate franchise; requiring a report from the Department of Revenue on corporate tax base erosion.
Representative Howard moved that HF4535 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill.
Representative Howard presented HF4535.
Testifying on HF4535:

• Joanna Bayers, Legislative Director, Minnesota Department of Revenue
Representative Howard renewed the motion that HF4535 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Taxes Omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.
