VETERANS AND MILITARY AFFAIRS FINANCE & POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Jerry Newton, Chair of the Veterans and Military Affairs Finance & Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:00 P.M., on March 27, 2023, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Clardy moved that the minutes from March 20, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3011 (Anderson, P.E.) Veterans Campground wastewater system upgrade appropriation modified.
Chair Newton moved that HF3011 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee.

Representative Anderson presented HF3011.

Chair Newton renewed the motion that HF3011 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Veterans and Military Affairs Finance and Policy Committee. The bill was laid over.

Vice-Chair Elkins assumed the gavel at 1:08 PM.

HF1937 (Newton) Department of Military Affairs and Department of Veterans Affairs budgets established, veterans bonus program and Minnesota GI Bill program provisions modified, reports required, and money appropriated.
Chair Newton moved that HF1937 be re-referred to the House Ways and Means Committee.
Chair Newton moved the DE1 amendment before the committee.
Lead Bliss moved the A1 to amend the DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Vice-Chair Elkins renewed the motion that the DE1 amendment, as amended, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Newton presented HF1937, as amended.
