Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the thirty-ninth meeting to order at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Newman moved approval of the minutes of April 14, 2005, Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Smith moved HF1 Smith relating to Omnibus public safety finance bill.

Rep. Smith moved the DE2 amendment (see attached).

Jeffrey Diebel, House Research, presented the differences between the DE1 amendment and DE2 amendment.
