Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. on February 14, 2008, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Berns moved that the minutes of March 20, 2007, the minutes of March 22, 2007, the minutes of October 4, 2007, and the minutes of January 29, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1665 (Gardner) Consumer reports security freezes regulated, and fees provided.

Representative Atkins moved HF 1665.

SF 543 (Nelson) Employee Free Choice Act; resolution memorializing Congress to support the Employee Free Choice Act relating to workers' rights to form and join unions.

HF 111 (Loeffler) Preventive health care promoted by requiring high deductible health plans used with a health savings account to cover preventive care with no deductible as permitted by federal law.

Representative Atkins moved HF 111.

Representative Atkins moved the HAD-514 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
