Representative Dominguez moved the minutes of February 28, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.
HF319 (Kelliher) A bill for an act relating to libraries; appropriating money for regional library basic system support and multicounty, multitype library systems.
Representative Hilstrom moved HF319 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.
Representative Kelliher, Chris Olson, Executive Director, Metropolitan Library Service Agency, Elaine Keefe, Lobbyist, Minnesota Library Association, Patricia Post, Director, Central Minnesota Libraries Exchange, and Suzanne Miller, State Librarian, Minnesota Department of Education, testified.
HF409 (Morrow) A bill for an act relating to education; appropriating money for regional library telecommunications aid and equity in telecommunications/Internet access.
Representative Morrow moved HF409 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.
Representative Morrow and Chris Olson, Executive Director, Metropolitan Library Service Agency, testified.
Representative Greiling assumed the gavel at 3:15pm.
HF112 (Lillie) A bill for an act relating to education finance; increasing certain levy authority.
Representative Greiling moved HF112 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.
Representative Lillie and Dennis Sullivan, Director of Business Services, North St.Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale Schools, testified.
HF762 (Mullery) A bill for an act relating to libraries; providing that grants from the proceeds of a local option sales tax shall not be amounts provided by a city or county when determining eligibility for regional library basic system support grants.
Representative Greiling moved HF762 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.
Representative Mullery and Kit Hadley, Director, Minneapolis Public Library, testified.
