MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the fifteenth meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Clark called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.

A quorum was present.

Representative Tschumper moved that the minutes from Wednesday, February 28, 4:30 p.m. meeting, be approved as corrected. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kranz assumed the gavel at 10:10 a.m.

Representative Clark assumed the gavel at 10:13 a.m.

The committee recognized the students from Burnsville High School.

Representative Morgan moved HF1208 to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Finance.

HF1208 (Mahoney) State Building Code modified, and construction code and licensing provisions modified and recodified

Representative Morgan moved the delete everything amendment A07-0118. (Attached) Hearing no objections the motion prevailed.

Representative Mahoney presented HF1208 to the committee.

The committee recognized the 9th -12th grade students from Woodcrest Baptist School in Fridley.

Representative Morgan renewed his motion that HF1208 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Finance as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kranz assumed the gavel at 11:14.

Representative Clark moved that HF277 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Finance.

HF277 (Clark) Window screens in new residential dwellings required to comply with safety standards

Representative Clark presented HF277 to the committee.

Representative Moe moved an oral amendment to HF277 as follows:
following "January 1," on lines 1.19 and 1.22
delete "2008" and replace with "2009"
following "January 1," on line 1.24
delete "2009" and replace with "2010"
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Clark renewed her motion that HF277 pass and be re-referred to the committee on Finance.

Representative McNamara requested a roll call vote. The results were as follows:
