MINUTES


Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:05 AM on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Tschumper assumed the gavel at 10:07.

Representative Clark moved that HF2100 be laid over for possible inclusion to an omnibus bill.

Representative Clark presented HF2100, the Second Committee Engrossment, bisphenol-A and phthalates or replacment chemicals prohibited in children's products and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency authorized to participate in a multistate clearinghouse.

Testified on HF2100, the Second Committee Engrossment:

Representative Clark renewed the motion that HF2100 be laid over for possible inclusion to an omnibus bill. Hearing no objection, the bill was laid over.

Representative Clark re-assumed the gavel at 10:52.

Representative Benson moved that HF3199 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Loeffler presented HF3199, Minnesota supplemental aid shelter needy provisions modified to include persons moving out of corporate foster settings.

Testified on HF3199:

Nancy Schouweiler, Commissioner, Dakota County and MACSSA

Representative Benson renewed the motion that HF3199 be recommended to pass and be returned to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Clark moved that HF3592, the First Committee Engrossment be recommended to pass and be returned the Committee on Finance.

Chair Clark moved to amend HF3592, the First Committee Engrossment. (See attached amendment H3592A4). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Clark moved an oral amendment to HF3592, the First Committee Engrossment, as amended as follows:

Page 1, line 1.15 after "commissioner"
delete "may change"
insert "shall charge"

THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Thao presented HF3592, the First Committee Engrossment, as amended, health care interpreter roster and registry development required.

Chair Clark renewed the motion that HF3592, the First Committee Engrossment, as amended, be recommended to pass and be returned the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Laine moved that the minutes of March 14 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:23 AM.
