Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the meeting to order at 6:05 PM on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Cafetorium in Lake Junior High School in Woodbury, MN.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was not present.

Rep. Swails gave a brief introduction and description of the discovery of perfluorochemical removal from drinking water in the East Metro.

John Stine, MN Department of Health, Division Director, Environmental Health; Jean Johnson, MN Department of Health, Epidemiologist Principal; Mary Manning, MN Department of Health, Division Director, Health Promotion and Chronic Disease; provided an update on the biomonitoring project.

Michael Convery, MN Department of Health, Hydrologist Supervisor; Dan Wilson, MN Department of Health, Health Program Manager Senior provided an update on point-of-use treatment devices study.

Kathy Sather, MN Pollution Control Agency, Pollution Control Division Director; Doug Wetzstein, MN Pollution Control Agency, Pollution Control Specialist Principal; Jeff Lewis, MN Pollution Control Agency, Pollution Control Program Administrator provided an update on the MPCA's work relating to the project.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:08 PM.
