HEALTH CARE AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE DIVISION

Chair Thomas Huntley began the fifth meeting of the Health Care and Human Services Finance Division at 1:02 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.
Cal Ludeman, Commissioner, Department of Human Services, gave introductory remarks on the Governor’s budget recommendations, and responded to questions of members.
At 1:25 p.m. Vice Chair Abeler assumed the gavel. At 1:26 p.m. a quorum was present and the meeting was formally called to order. The clerk noted the roll:

Representative Kiffmeyer moved approval of the January 29, 2009, minutes. The motion prevailed.
Questions and answers continued and at 1:55 p.m. Chair Huntley resumed the chair.
Jane Rankin, Budget Director, Department of Human Services (DHS) explained the format of the budget book for members.
Loren Coleman, Assistant Commissioner, Continuing Care, DHS, began his overview of the change items on pages 59 and 60 relating to modifying nursing facility levels of care. Due to time constraints, Chair Huntley announced the Division would meet [in addition to the regularly scheduled February 4 and 5 meetings and only if necessary] on Thursday, February 5, at 6:15 p.m., and adjourned the meeting at 2:30 p.m.
