MINUTES

Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:31 A.M. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Winkler moved that the minutes of February 19, 2009, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Pelowski moved that HF172 (Hilstrom) be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Hilstrom presented HF172 (Hilstrom), a bill for an act relating to elections; clarifying that election judge may affirm oath; etc.

Chair Pelowski renewed the motion that HF172 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Pelowski moved that SF307 (Welti) be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Welti presented SF307 (Welti), a bill for an act relating to local government; changing out-of-state travel policy requirements; etc.

Continuation of HF300, as amended (Davnie) (This bill was heard, amended, and laid over on February 19, 2009.)

Chair Pelowski moved that HF300, as amended, be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Davnie presented HF300, as amended (Davnie), a bill for an act relating to elections; applying certain privileges to major political party caucuses held in cities of the first class during odd-numbered years; etc.

Chair Pelowski renewed the motion that HF300, as amended, be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Pelowski moved that HF736 (Pelowski) be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Pelowski presented HF736 (Pelowski), a bill for an act relating to state government; changing the name of a state agency.
