MINUTES


Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chairman Pelowski moved that HF2958, First Engrossment, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

Representative Pelowski presented HF2958 (Pelowski), First Engrossment, a bill for an act relating to state government; making changes to the Open Meeting Law; etc.

Chairman Pelowski moved to amend HF2958, First Engrossment (see attached amendment H2958A11).

Representative Paymar explained the amendment, H2958A11.

Representative Simon moved to amend amendment H2958A11 with an oral amendment as follows:

Page 2, line 19, delete the first comma and the third "or" and insert "and"

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler moved to amend amendment H2958A11, as amended, with an oral amendment as follows:

Page 2, line 17, after "employees" insert ", students"

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Pelowski renewed the motion to amend HF2958, First Engrossment (with amendment H2958A11, as amended).

A division was requested. There were 7 ayes and 5 nays. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Pelowski renewed the motion that HF2958, First Engrossment, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
