Representative Joe Atkins, Chair of the Commerce and Labor Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:32 P.M. on March 12, 2009, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Johnson moved that the minutes of March 10, 2009 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.


HF925 (Sertich) Official measure of unemployment expanded.

Representative Davnie moved that the Committee Report for HF925 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1116 (Davnie) Unemployment benefit requirements waived for dislocated workers, Minnesota investment fund authorization expanded, unemployment provisions modified, appeals required to be filed online, collection fee provided, unemployment benefit filing regulated, terms defined and clarified, and money appropriated.

Representative Davnie moved that the Committee Report for HF1116 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Davnie moved the A09-0127 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davnie moved the A09-0110 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF354 (Hilstrom) Mortgage foreclosure proceedings notice and mandatory mediation required prior to commencement on homestead property, and homestead-lender mediation account created.
