MINUTES

Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 5:30:14 on April 4, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hoppe moved HF0632.

Representative Howes introduced HF0632.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H0632DE1.

Representative Howes incorporated changes to amendment H0632DE1, deleting period on line 7.6 and inserting "except that the fee under this section for a maintenance plumber is $40."

Represenative Hoppe’s motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted with changes incorporated.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF0632, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to Ways and Means Committee. The motion prevailed.

Representative Howes introduced HF0569.

Representative Hoppe moved that HF0569 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Senator Vogel introduced SF0551-1.

Representative Daudt moved that SF0551-1 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Stensrud moved the minutes for March 15, 2011. The motion prevailed.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved HF1195.

Representative Sarah Anderson moved amendment H1195DE1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Ron Elwood from Legal Aid testified.

Paul Cassidy from Leonard Street and Deinard testified.

Representative Sarah Anderson renewed her motion that HF1195 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Sanders moved and introduced HF1152 recommending that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Sanders moved an oral amendment, striking "22" on line 2.14 and inserting "31." The motion prevailed. The oral amendment was adopted.

Paul Cassidy from Leonard Street and Deinard testified.

Ann Finn from League of MN Cities testified.

Representative Sanders renewed his motion that HF1152 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Sanders moved and introduced HF0837 recommending that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Dave Johnson from MN Pipe Trades testified.

Gary Thaden from MN Mechanical Contractors testified.

Peter Thraine from Leonard Street and Deinard testified.

Representative Sanders renewed his motion that HF0837 be passed and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

The chair adjourned the meeting at 6:39 p.m.
