GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

H.F. 210 (Kiffmeyer) voter picture identification required before receiving ballot, identification cards provided at no charge, provisional ballot procedures established, et al.

Chair Peppin moved that H.F. 210 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance.

Representative Murray moved the H0210A1 amendment to the H021DE1 amendment. Representative Simon requested a roll call vote.

On a vote of 9 AYES and 6 NAYS, THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler moved the H0210A6 amendment to the H0210DE1 amendment and requested a roll call vote.

On a vote of 6 AYES and 9 NAYS, THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL AND THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Representative Hornstein moved the H0210A5 amendment to the H0210DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Greene moved the H0210A7 amendment to the H0210DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler moved the H0210A3 amendment to the H0210DE1 amendment and requested a roll call vote.

Chair Peppin renewed her motion that H.F. 210 be recommended to pass, as amended and re-referred to the House Committee on State Government Finance. Representative Winkler requested a roll call vote.
