GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Scalze moved approval of the minutes from March 1, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

Chair Peppin moved confirmation of the appointment of David P. Swenson to the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 287 (Hamilton) Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week proposed.
Representative Scalze moved that H.F. 287 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Scalze renewed her motion that H.F. 287 be recommended to pass, and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND H.F. 287 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS.

H.F. 561 (Beard) Election recount requirements and procedures modified.

Representative Beard moved that H.F. 561 be recommended to pass, and placed on the General Register.

Representative Beard moved an oral amendment to delete Section 4 of H.F. 561. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

H.F. 135 (Hackbarth) Well regulation authority modified.

Representative Murray moved that H.F. 135 be recommended to pass, and re-referred to the Committee on Environment

Representative Murray renewed his motion that H.F. 135 be recommended to pass, and, be re-referred to the Environment Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND H.F. 135 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND RE-REFERRRED TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE.
