GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Peppin, Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the fifty fifth meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hornstein moved that the minutes of March 7, 2012 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2738 (Kiffmeyer) Voters required to present photographic identification, photographic identification provided to voters at no charge, equal verification standards required for all voters, and constitutional amendment proposed.

Chair Peppin moved that HF2738 be recommended to pass and sent to the Ways and Means Committee.

Chair Peppin moved the H2738DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The committee heard testimony on HF2738, as amended.
