PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIME PREVENTION POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the twelfth meeting to order at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hilty moved that the minutes of February 9, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0306 (Westrom) Emily's Law established, age lowered for adult certification and extended jurisdiction juvenile prosecution for juveniles, and violent juvenile offense defined.

Representative Nornes moved HF0306.

Representative Cornish moved to layover HF0306.

The committee heard testimony on HF0306.

Representative Smith moved that, if and when passed, HF0306 be re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee.

The committee heard public testimony from Al Flowers and Troy Parker.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:09 p.m.
