MINUTES

Representative Holberg, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:03 A.M. on April 25, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Holberg officially called the meeting to order at 8:06 A.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Brynaert moved to approve the minutes from the committee meetings on April 20, 2012 and April 23, 2012. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Holberg moved HF 2172 for consideration by the committee.

Representative Holberg moved the H2172A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Testifying on HF 2172, as amended:

Bill Strusinksi, Minnesota Electrical Association

Representative Holberg moved that HF 2172, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF201 (Garofalo): Criminal vehicular operation law gross negligence definition.

Representative Garofalo moved SF 201 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Garofalo moved to delete the language in SF 201 and insert the language of HF 68. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Garofalo renewed his motion that SF 201, as amended, be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF1653 (Sanders): Independent contractors provisions modifications; fire sprinkler installation requirement in single-family detached homes prohibition.

Representative Abeler moved SF 1653 for consideration by the committee.

Representative Abeler moved to delete the language in SF 1653 and insert the language of HF 2093, the second engrossment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Abeler moved the H2093A10 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Holberg called a recess of the meeting at 9:14 A.M.
