JUDICIARY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Shimanski, Chair of the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:18 A.M. on March 15, 2012, in Room 10 (ground floor) of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Vogel moved approval of the March 13, 2012 Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kiffmeyer presented HF 2188. Voter eligibility provisions for individuals under guardianship conformed to constitutional requirements, and other related procedures modified.

Representative Vogel moved HF 2188 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Vogel moved the H2188DE3 amendment to HF 2188. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Westrom presented HF 2762. Election errors service of petition and referee orders appeals modified, and transfer of structure settlement payment rights notice requirements added to.

Representative Anderson moved HF 2762 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register.

Representative Anderson renewed her motion that HF2762 be recommended to pass and placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Poppe presented HF 2220. Unreasonable restraint of children demonstrable harm level changed.

Representative Hilstrom moved HF 2220 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance.

Representative Johnson Moved HF 2220 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Johnson presented HF 2000. County boards authorized to set and impose court security fee in civil and criminal matters, and fee allotted for court security equipment and personnel.

Representative Johnson moved HF 2000 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.
