MINUTES

Representative Mahoney, Chair of Committee on Jobs and Economic Development Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 12: 33 PM, Thursday, February22, 2013 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll; and a quorum was present.

Rep. Albright moved for the approval of the February 20, 2013 minutes. Motion prevailed.

Chair Mahoney moved HF286 to be heard in committee.

Testifiers: Mike Wynne, President and CEO of Emerge; Pete Pearson, Building and Construction Trades Association

HF286 was moved to be laid over for possible recommendation to the Bonding Committee.

Rep. Gunther moved HF444 to be heard in committee.

Testifiers: Art Berman, President and CEO, Twin Cities Rise!, and Tony Blakey, Workskills Coach and Instructor.

Chair Mahoney moved HF444 to be laid over for possible inclusion on the Jobs Omnibus bill.

Rep. Ward moved HF292 to be heard in committee and re-referred to the Taxes Committee.

Rep. Ward moved the H0292A2 amendment. Motion prevailed.

Testifiers: Dan Dorman, Executive Director, Albert Lea Economic Development; Robert Broeder, Mayor, Le Sueur, MN; Joan Wilshire, MN State Council on Disability; Ed Ronoso, Teamsters Joint Council 32; Kim Babine, Legislative Director, DEED.

Rep. Ward moved to renew HF292 and have it be passed to the Taxes Committee.

Chair Mahoney adjourned the meeting at 1:58 PM.
