MINUTES

Representative Kahn, Chair of the Legacy Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:37 P.M. on April 9, 2013 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Lead Republican Urdahl moved that the minutes of April 4, 2013 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Janelle Taylor, House Research gave an overview of H0641-1, Article 2, relating to parks and trails.

Dan Larson, Administrator, Minnesota Rural County Caucus, representing the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Coalition, responded to member questions.

Thomas Ryan, Olmstead County Superintendent, and Mark Mattice, Wright County Parks Administrator, both representing the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Coalition, testified in support of the Work Group recommendations in the Parks and Trails Legacy Funding Report.

Kim Kang, Minnesota State Council on Disability, stated there are some accessibility issues in the state parks and supports additional funding to comply with the accessibility code.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:36 P.M.
