MINUTES

Representative Paymar, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy, called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

H.F. 1048 (Johnson, S.) Probation supervision money appropriated.

Chair Paymar moved that H.F. 1048 be recommended to pass and be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Public Safety Finance bill.

Testifying on H.F. 1048 were:

Josh Milow - Blue Earth County Community Corrections Officer
Ryan Erdmann - Executive Director, Minnesota Association of Community Corrections Act Counties
Bruce Hagstrom - Minnesota Association of County Probation Officers
Thomas Roy - Commissioner, Department of Corrections

Chair Paymar laid over H.F. 1048.

H.F. 275 (Woodard) Capitol complex area security provisions modified, report provided for, and money appropriated.

Rep. Johnson moved that H.F. 275 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance.

Testifying on behalf of H.F. 275 were:

Mark Dunaski - Assistant Commissioner, Department of Public Safety
Major Bob Meyerson - Department of Public Safety

Rep. Johnson renewed his motion that H.F. 275 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Rosenthal moved that the minutes of the February 27, 2013 meeting be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
