MINUTES

Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M. on March 16, 2016 in Hearing Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Cornish called the meeting to order at 10:15 A.M. A quorum was present.

Representative O’Neill moved the minutes of March 15, 2016 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2552 (O’Neill): Mandatory hearing requirement for subsequent orders and extensions eliminated.

Representative O’Neill moved HF2552 be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.

Representative O’Neill moved the HF2552 DE1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testimony on HF2552 presented by:
Rebekah Moses, Minnesota Coalition for Battered Women

Representative O’Neill renewed her motion that HF2552, as amended, be referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Data Practices. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2553 (O’Neill): Respondent filing fee requirements for an order for protection eliminated.

Representative O’Neill moved HF2553 be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Data Practices.
