REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mary Murphy, Chair of the Committee on Redistricting, called the virtual meeting to order at 2:00 PM on November 19, 2021 pursuant to House rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Vice Chair Klevorn moved to approve the minutes from October 14th, 2021. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Murphy provided introductory comments on HF 2632.

Matt Gehring, House Research, provided an overview of the proposed H2632DE1 Amendment.

Chair Murphy and Vice Chair Klevorn presented the L2101-0 map.

Chair Murphy announced no formal action would be taken at the meeting and provided additional information on the process for moving forward.

The committee adjourned at 3:35 PM.

* HF 2632 will be the vehicle bill for the legislative redistricting plan. A DE1 amendment will be offered. The map that corresponds to the DE1 Amendment (Plan L-2101) is available on the LCC website at https://gis.lcc.mn.gov/redist2020/plans.html
Click on ‘L2101-0’ in the plan category for details on maps and individual districts. The committee will have a walk-through of the DE amendment/map and entertain technical/clarifying questions at this meeting, but no debate or formal action will be taken. Public testimony will be taken on this document on December 1, 2021 and December 2, 2021.
