HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Mohamud Noor, Chair of the Committee on Human Services Finance, called the meeting to order at 1:01 PM on March 9, 2023 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Fischer moved that the minutes of March 7, 2023, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2329 (Hassan); Outreach, education, training, and distribution of naloxone kits funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Noor moved that HF 2329 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Representative Hassan presented HF 2329.

Testifying on HF 2329:

Chair renewed the motion that HF 2329 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF 1633 (Richardson); African American Child Wellness Institute grant funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Noor moved that HF 1633 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Chair Noor renewed the motion that HF 1633 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

HF 2550 (Bahner); Medical assistance reimbursement rate increased for critical access mental health services provided by certain providers.

Vice Chair Bahner moved that HF 2550 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.

Vice Chair Bahner moved the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Bahner presented HF 2550 as amended.

Representative Fisher moved that HF 2523 be laid over for possible inclusion in a future Human Services Finance Committee omnibus bill.
