RELEASE: Statement from Rep. Mary Franson on ICE Arrest of Convicted Murderer in St. Paul
Saint Paul, MN – Rep. Mary Franson (R–Alexandria) issued the following statement regarding the recent arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of Thai Lor, a convicted murderer criminal illegal alien from Thailand:
“This is exactly the kind of Worst of the Worst criminal illegal alien that Minnesotans expect to be identified, arrested, and removed from our communities. The case is yet another tragic reminder that when sanctuary politicians like Tim Walz refuse to help enforce our immigration laws, violent offenders can remain in our neighborhoods and threaten and ultimately kill innocent people. Minnesotans deserve to know that those who commit serious crimes—especially those here illegally—will be held accountable and removed so they cannot harm anyone else.
"I am grateful to the ICE officers and all the law enforcement professionals who worked to locate and arrest this convicted murderer illegal alien. These officers are doing difficult, often dangerous work to protect families in Minnesota and across the country. I will continue to support policies that enforce our laws, safeguard our people, and ensure that criminals who are in America illegally are not allowed to stay and prey upon us. Minnesotans should feel safe in their communities, and that starts with making sure violent offenders are off our streets, out of our state, and when appropriate, kicked out of our country for good.”
