Even some of our Republican colleagues know ICE went too far, but instead of using their power to do something about it, they think a “strongly-worded letter” is enough. Our kids deserve more than that. The other bills took on gun violence prevention measures, banning high-capacity magazines and assault weapons. It’s important to note that the votes we held required only one Republican to join us in order to move these bills forward. None of them did. Despite the vast majority of Minnesotans supporting these measures, House Republicans decided to side with President Trump and the gun lobby over their own constituents.

So far this year, more than 154,000 tax returns have claimed the Child Tax Credit, benefiting over 318,000 children across Minnesota. Families are receiving an average credit of $2,669. |
