St. Paul, MN - Today, the Minnesota House and Senate passed a package of legislation investing in regional infrastructure projects and funding good-paying local jobs throughout the state. Included in the legislation was $12.4 million for the City of St. Cloud and surrounding communities - investments championed by State Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL - St. Cloud) on the final day of the 2026 Legislative Session.
“Wow, the last day of my legislative career was my single most productive in 8 years! I’m thrilled to announce the passage of $12.4 million for projects to make our community more safe and vibrant.” said Rep. Wolgamott. “Residents in northwest St. Cloud will be relieved to hear we are finally making safety improvements to 322nd Street. Students, teachers, and families at Sauk Rapids Rice High School will benefit from the Mathew Lake Road safety improvements. The Mississippi River Walk will enhance our connection to the mighty river and attract tourists, and the 5th Avenue South project will provide a revitalizing economic boost to downtown St. Cloud.”
Investments in St. Cloud and surrounding communities include:
- Mississippi Riverwalk Connection - $3 million
- Mayhew Lake Road (CSAH 1) Safety Improvements - $3 million
- 5th Avenue South Downtown Project - $3.4 million
- 322nd Street Safety Improvements - $3 million
