Plymouth, MN – The League of Minnesota Cities has named Rep. Ginny Klevorn (DFL-Plymouth) as a 2025 Legislator of Distinction for her support of Minnesota cities during the past legislative session.
“It’s critical to have strong state and city partnerships in the legislature so we can ensure the best outcomes for every community in Minnesota,” said Rep. Klevorn, who serves as the House DFL co-chair of the State Government Finance and Policy Committee. “I am honored to have earned this recognition and I thank the League for their advocacy.”
Co-Chair Klevorn advocated for local decision-making authority and worked closely with League staff and district officials to understand city perspectives. She helped navigate complex issues affecting local governments throughout the session.
The annual awards recognize legislators who collaborate effectively with city officials to serve communities statewide. Recipients must meet criteria such as being accessible to League representatives, seeking city input on key issues, supporting League initiatives, and demonstrating the importance of state-city partnerships.
The League of Minnesota Cities serves over 830 member cities through advocacy, education, policy development, and other services.
