Hello Friends,

Last week, I travelled to D.C. to push Congress to oppose additional funding for ICE, which has been terrorizing our most vulnerable neighbors and trampling on our constitutional rights for over two months.

I stood alongside over 50 Minnesotans at an ICE OUT rally on Capitol grounds, including Shakopee residents like Paola and Stephanie, both former students at Shakopee High, who came to share their stories with lawmakers. I’m incredibly proud of their courage.

We met with Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer and top staff for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. On Saturday morning, Senator Erin Maye Quade and I appeared on MS NOW to discuss the incredible harm Metro Surge has had on our communities. You can watch the full interview here.

Now, I’m back in Saint Paul for the 2026 Legislative Session. There’s a lot to do, as we work to protect Minnesotans’ constitutional rights, address gun violence, protect our public services from fraudsters, and build an economy that works for everyday Minnesotans.

I’ve authored a bill banning high-capacity magazines to reduce gun violence, and I'm working on legislation to prevent Minnesotans’ license plate data from being used by federal agents, as part of our package of bills to respond to ICE in Minnesota.

I’ll have more to share on my priorities for Shakopee and my bills this session in future newsletters. Reply to this email or call me at 651-297-5003 with any questions, comments, or ideas you have for Shakopee and Minnesota.

I look forward to hearing from you.
