Rep. Frederick delivers infrastructure funding for Mankato and Eagle Lake

Sunday, May 17, 2026

St. Paul, MN - Today, the Minnesota House and Senate passed a package of legislation investing in regional infrastructure projects and funding good-paying local jobs throughout the state. As the DFL Vice Chair of the House Capital Investment Committee, Rep. Luke Frederick (DFL - Mankato) championed significant portions of the legislation, including investments in Mankato and Eagle Lake.

“The investments we passed this year will build a better Minnesota, and in our community we’re delivering funding to improve the Mankato Regional Airport and build a water treatment facility for the City of Eagle Lake,” said Rep. Frederick. “Projects like these that are representative of what a Capital Investment Bill should do - lending a hand in delivering basic needs like clean water, and helping a community reach its full potential with regionally impactful infrastructure. I look forward to watching these investments turn into tangible projects for our community.”

The Mankato Regional Airport received $1.26 million dollars for an air traffic control tower, and the City of Eagle Lake received $6 million for a drinking water treatment facility. The combined spreadsheet of all funded projects from the infrastructure bills can be found here.
