![]() Dear Neighbors, Thank you to everyone who reached out expressing love, joy, and appreciation for my Hortman tribute crop art. It truly was a healing experience for me and I’m proud we were able to ‘Sow Love’ together as we all continue to heal and celebrate the lives of Melissa and Mark Hortman. ![]()
Back to School Our hearts are heavy following last week’s tragedy, and this back-to-school time is not like normal. The start of the school year should be filled with joy, hope, and excitement for learning — not sadness and grief. I continue to hold all of Minnesota’s students and educators in our hearts. Nobody should have to face this fear in their day-to-day lives, whether at school, a place of worship, or anywhere in our neighborhoods. Enough is enough. As a mother and legislator, I will continue to work to ensure they are safe and to help prevent another unspeakable tragedy due to senseless violence. While there is immense uncertainty in our school communities, I’m proud that every single kid walking in those school doors will once again have access to free breakfast and lunch. We worked hard to enact our universal school meals law in 2023, and we successfully defeated GOP efforts to roll back this vital program that’s helping students focus on learning, not hunger. ![]()

Registration is encouraged but not required. Please pre-submit any questions you want me to address. Click here for the link. ![]()
MN Basic Income Week Event As the proud author of the Basic Income bill, I am excited to join the Minnesota Financial Opportunity Coalition for a free, virtual event to discover the powerful impact of guaranteed income and the success stories from pilot programs across Minnesota. When Minnesotans receive direct cash, they strengthen their families, improve their health, and build secure futures for themselves and their communities. Whether you're looking to advocate, volunteer, or simply learn more, there are many ways to make a difference. Join us to explore how cash can empower communities and create lasting change. Together, we can build a brighter future for all Minnesotans! Register and learn more here. ![]()
