Dear Neighbors,

I wanted to send a reminder for our upcoming Town Hall on Monday. I’ll be joining Reps. Pérez-Vega and Xiong to hold a Town Hall to provide an update on our work in the Minnesota House, and discuss with our community the ways in which we can work together to revitalize St. Paul.

The event will begin at 6:00pm and go until 8:00pm. We ask that our neighbors please RSVP to receive the location information, which can be done here.

This event will be a great opportunity for our communities to touch base on ways we can revitalize our city, whether that’s vitality and transportation infrastructure projects, support for our small businesses, and ways in which we can lift up the arts and community initiatives.

I’m looking forward to connecting with our neighbors, and I hope to see you there!

Fighting for a Safer Minnesota

This week in the Minnesota House, we had the opportunity to force a vote on several key pieces of legislation, all focused on making our schools and communities safer.

The first of which would simply require federal agents to get a judicial warrant to enter a school - something that had been the norm before the second Trump administration.

ICE in Minnesota's Schools

Time and again, we saw ICE and federal agents terrorize our communities, including the areas in and around our schools. Our students deserve the peace of mind that their school is a safe space.

It’s that same belief that led my DFL colleagues to bring up our bills to ban high-capacity magazines and assault weapons - instruments of war that have no place in our communities.

It’s important to note that the votes we held required only one Republican to join us in order to move these bills forward.

None of them did.

Despite the vast majority of Minnesotans supporting these measures, House Republicans decided to side with the radical wing of their party and President Trump.

Our kids deserve better.

Child Tax Credit Reminder

If you’re still working on your 2025 taxes and have children, please don’t forget about the Child Tax Credit! It is NOT automatic. So far this year, more than 154,000 tax returns have claimed the Child Tax Credit, benefiting over 318,000 children across Minnesota. Families are receiving an average credit of $2,669.

The credit is estimated to reduce child poverty by up to a third in Minnesota, making it one of the most impactful investments DFLers protected amid federal cuts. Learn more about eligibility here
